This Saturday, June. 5d., 2 v.p.p., Audronė Šemetaitė-Murtaugh from Cleveland will present her late father’s, A.a. Alex Šemeta’s, book “Memories of an Ordinary Partisan” (“Elinio partizano atsiminimai”). The book describes the struggle for independence against the Bermontians, the West Russian Volunteer Army, in the Šiauliai region and Kužiai eldership, which took place in 1919, in the turbulent time following the declaration of Lithuania’s independence from Tsarist Russia. The program will be in Lithuanian.
Program participants will have an exclusive preview of fiction and non-fiction books for sale in both English and Lithuanian at the museum’s first “Used Book Sale”. Admission to the book presentation is free for museum members; non-members are requested to make a donation. Refreshments will be served.
Museum members also receive a 10% discount on all new and used books and other Gift Shop purchases. All sales and donations, including online purchases, support museum programs and activities.
