One -of-a kind copper and amber cross by local artist – R. Povilaitis
Povilaitis, an 88-year-old retired dentist, likes to stay busy so he expresses his love of folk art by making small amber and copper crosses inspired by Lithuania’s Hill of Crosses.
Lithuania is home to a shrine and a pilgrimage site known as the “Hill of Crosses,” The hill, about 12 kilometers north of Šiauliai, in the northern part of the country, is now home to an “uncountable” number of crosses of all styles and materials.
Materials: wood, amber, copper.
