Letters from Siberia included almost 200 letters sent from across Siberia to western countries. On January 21,2012, Audrius V. Plioplys with Luka Saparnis and Sam De Sandro did a formal reading of these letters. Later, this video was recorded.
More than 132,000 Lithuanians were deported to remote areas of Siberia. 70 percent of the deportees were women and children. 30,000 Lithuanians had died as a result of slave work and starvation. In addition more than 150,000 were sent to gulags, Siberian prison camps.
