About the Author:
Masha Greenbaum was born in Kovno (Kaunas), Lithuania, and spent the war years under Soviet occupation and then under Germans in the Kovno Ghetto and in concentration camps in Estonia and Germany. She was liberated in Bergen- Belsen by the British Army.
She received a B.A. Honours Degree in Jewish History and Literature at London University, and continued her studies in Jewish History at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, where she was granted a Mater’s Degree for her thesis on “Jewish Autonomy in Independent Lithuania.”
