About the Author
After becoming widowed, Eve Bates earned an Associate of Arts degree at age seventy-five. College teachers told her she had a flare for writing. Her first book was Sudiev! Goodbye!: Joys and Hardships of a Lithuanian Immigrant Girl, a family saga published in 1978 which is now in the permanent collection at the Statue of Liberty Library on Ellis Island, NYC. Complementing Bates’ second book, My Speckled Tales and Other Dimensions,” her third, More Speckled Tales, recounts additional colorful, fantastic stories. She has plans for two more collections, in between which Bates finds time for gardening and fishing.
