Children of all ages love to learn by doing. Museum programs, such as the popular Lithuanian Užgavėnės or Mardi Gras mask-making or Easter egg decorating workshops give children an opportunity to create what they see and learn about in the Museum's collections. Skilled artisans and educators conduct these popular educational programs.

The Balzekas Museum works closely with Chicago-area schools to provide educational enrichment opportunities for children of all ages. The Museum's collections can be used to illustrate and supplement lessons on maps, medieval history, the World Wars, immigration, ancient history, Roman trade routes, agrarian society, textiles, folk art, and much more.
